Dissatisfaction among close followers of RSS and Islam is increasing

Nagpur. The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh’s (RSS) leadership’s policy of increasing dialogue with the Muslim community and adopting a more accommodating and mild approach towards Islam has created concern and dissatisfaction among some staunch Hindu supporters of the Sangh.
According to RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, statements like “The DNA of Hindus and Muslims is the same,” “Every Indian is a Hindu,” and “Don’t look for temples in mosques” have created an ideological gap between the Sangh’s traditional ideology and its workers.
The main reason for concern among the group of staunch Sanatani/Ujjwa ideology is that, in the matter of reconciling heritage and culture, the role of RSS itself seems to be like a long-shot that deviates from the basic objective of protecting Sanatan Dharma, such staunch activists feel. For example, when RSS chiefs or leaders support restraint in the Kashi-Mathura case regarding controversial religious places, fundamentalists consider it an injustice to Hindus. The fundamentalists do not like the call given by RSS leaders like Indresh Kumar to hand over the disputed sites voluntarily.
There is disappointment among some supporters of the right ideology, who feel that the RSS acts as a political instrument of the BJP and adjusts its ideologies to maintain power.
Keeping in mind the difference between the law and the reality on the ground, a group of staunch Sanatans feel that, in order to convey the message of ‘goodwill’, the ideological struggle should remain at the grassroots level.
RSS leadership’s vision (of change?):
Preparation for centenary celebration: For the centenary celebration of RSS to be held in 2025, the aim of the leadership is to create an all-inclusive image by including Muslims with the concept of Hindu Rashtra. This will definitely strengthen the conflict and hatred. Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh chief Mohan Bhagwat says that although the methods of performing puja and worship are different, the culture of all Indians is the same. Muslim social communicator aims to remove their distrust.
Regarding Hindu-Muslim unity, RSS has tried to connect Muslims to its ideologues through organizations like Muslim Rashtriya Manch (MRM). This sends a message that RSS is not anti-Muslim at all, but is against anti-national actions.
Conclusion: There appears to be “infighting” or differences within the RSS regarding its policy. Even though the top leadership accepts the ‘inclusive’ approach, the staunch Sanatan community in Talgal continues to believe that this is the long-term hard work and dedication of the RSS’s centenarians.
